Project Statement

For this semester-long project, I will be focusing on developing my personal brand through design work created primarily in Adobe programing and Procreate art designs. The central discipline will revolve around crafting logos, animation, and creative material while building greater proficiency with digital tools. Each design session will be limited to a maximum of 20 minutes to encourage creativity, reduce overthinking, and emphasize progress over perfection. This time constraint is intended to help move ideas quickly from initial concept to tangible design outcomes, fostering both creativity and efficiency.

My motivation for this project stems from a desire to explore and solidify the visual identity of my personal brand, while also refining the skills I’ll need as a professional graphic designer. I plan to begin each concept with sketchbook work and then translate those ideas into digital designs. By the end of the semester, I hope to have built a varied and thoughtful portfolio of work that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and technical skill—something I can proudly showcase as a reflection of my growth and design capabilities.

Project Discription

Through this project, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of Adobe design platforms—particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I also want to explore apps such as Procreate—so I can effectively turn my concepts into refined visual creations. The focus will be on exploring and developing different aspects of my personal brand, starting with small, experimental variations in logos, symbols, and design elements. While each piece may be relatively simple or exploratory, the overall body of work will help shape and define what my brand visually represents. My inspirations include a diverse mix of designers and labels such as Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Essentials by Fear of God, Shepard Fairey, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Gymshark. My goal is to craft a brand identity that draws from the timelessness, minimalism, and edge of these designers while creating something uniquely my own.

Project Rationale

This project is important to my creative and professional growth because it helps me build confidence in creating under pressure, especially within timed design constraints. Working with a 20-minute limit encourages flexibility, discourages perfectionism, and helps me stay focused on turning ideas into action. It also opens up space for experimentation—where mistakes aren’t setbacks but rather stepping stones for learning and evolving. By consistently practicing this process, I’ll become better equipped to handle real-world creative challenges while building a portfolio of work that reflects both my design skills and the evolution of my personal brand.

Poject Plan

To stay consistent and productive throughout the semester, I will dedicate time on three days each week to focus solely on design work. During these sessions, I plan to complete between two to five individual designs, depending on complexity and creative flow. I will intentionally seek quiet environments where I can concentrate and work uninterrupted, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the creative process. My workflow will begin with sketching concepts by hand and then translating those ideas into digital designs using Adobe software. As I gain more experience, I hope my work will evolve from basic digital translations to more polished, fully developed visual pieces. I will also incorporate external learning by watching tutorials on platforms like YouTube and TikTok, specifically seeking out creators who share helpful shortcuts, design strategies, and innovative workflows within Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Gif Me your Logo

This cummilation of designs turned into a motion design set up as a gif. The images depict a falling motion that incorporates my first design and the finals result. The expectation for the dsign was to live on a web page for my brand or simply as a screen saver in a display located around various screens in my future shop.
